I started blogging in 2002, and with so many blog domains under my belt, here is a quick history of what went on during my blogging life.

• Started in 2002 with the title “My Say”.
• Is the first blog I ever had.
• Discontinued somewhere in 2003.
• Re-continued in 22 July 2007, and given the name “Simple Is Beautiful”.
• Blog was renamed to “The Hard Disk” which means it would be a place to keep information on what’s going on inside of me.
• Blog was renamed “Within Me” as the name “The Hard Disk” was too geeky.  The purpose of the blog remains to highlight deep thoughts and the evil within myself.
• Still active, but filled with paid post and random rants.

Friendster blog: http://cyrildason.blogs.friendster.com/mysay

• Started in 2003 to replace cdason.blogspot.com.
• Was chosen as a replacement due to its huge networking advantage.
• Was deleted for the first time after controversial issues and personal attacks were made through comments left.
• Was re-born and re-structured after the initial blog was deleted in October 2006.
• Kept the title “My Say”
• Lasted for 9 months.
• Inactive now and was later replaced by http://cdason.blog.com.

Blog.com : http://cdason.blog.com

• Was introduced as an experimental blog with 3 different sections; personal, sports and opinions.
• Well promoted but lasted less than 4 months as the domain’s server was slow and unpredictable.
• Inactive now, and was later replaced by http://cdason.multiply.com

Multiply blog : http://cdason.multiply.com

• Introduced on 04.07.2007
• Took up the name “Simple Is Beautiful”
• Was well promoted by Multiply, and received average response from readers.
• Still active, but is no more updated as its role was re-taken by http://cdason.blogspot.com.

Blogger : http://simpledestinations.blogspot.com

• Was suppose to serve as a nitch blog which highlighted ordinary places.
• Got nominated as one of the top 10 travel blogs in The All Malaysian Bloggers Project (AMBP)
• Remains active, but with a lot of paid post, and still awaiting restructuring.

Wordpress : http://cdason.com

• Born on 18 Sept 2007
• Was initially given the name www.cdason.com until it was rebranded to cdason[dot]com® on December 2007.
• took up the tagline “deep & different”
• Adopted “An abstract life, in a simple blog post” tagline in November 2008.
• Has a steady readership with about 150 readers per day.
• Heavily updated, and remains active till today.

• Created to show interesting images and pictures created.
• Failed to gain popularity.
• Inactive and was deleted.

Blogger : http://extraordinarylyrics.blogspot.com

• Introduced on May 13, 2008
• Full of lyrics of songs known to the writer.
• Active and updated, slowly.

Blogger : http://themainscreen.blogspot.com

• created on june 28, 2008
• focuses on movies screened in Malaysia
• Active but may soon see deletion.

Wordpress: http://cyrildason.com

• Introduced in October 2008.
• Is sort of a replacement of http://cdasonart.blogspot.com, but with more personal touch into it.
• Readership is not important, as its a place to share rants of my daily routine, and to share my photography interest.
• Active and updated frequently.

THE BRAND: CDASON

CDASON is actually a short form of Cyril Dason. The name CDASON brings up a unique feel with an immediate identity in place. The fact that CDASON is easy to mention, and remembered also makes this name the best choice for the blog’s name.  Just to note that cyrildason.com was not used as the blog’s domain name as it was considered to hard to remember.
