Time to update my blog.

It has been a busy Raya, I think one of the busiest I had ever had.  Went to quite a number of houses this year, and it was actually interesting to see how some houses looked nothing short of amazing (check out a picture of one of the house I visited below!).

For the first time in my life, I used the Malaysian baju kebangsaan which is the baju Melayu, altough.. Using my  ‘so called‘ baju melayu reminded me of the ‘tai chi‘ commercial used in the NTV7 10th year anniversary.  I don’t know why… but maybe its just the style of the shirt which kind of gave me that “Bruce Lee” feel.

Anyway, I have to admit, my RM70, lavender coloured, baju melayu was comfortable, and rather nice to wear… Other than that, it was cool, and well, casual (but I’d give a straight NO if you want me to wear this to any shopping malls!!)

Just like other celebrations in Malaysia, Hari Raya is a day when everybody meets up people they know, and say “Hey!! Selamat Hari Raya!! (its sort of ‘Happy Hari Raya’)“, and some go to the extend to say “Maaf Zahir Batin“.. (I don’t know how to translate Zahir Batin in English). Either way, I never got the “Batin” part of it coz everytime people mention ‘batin‘, I’ll think of the ‘tenaga batin’ a.k.a ‘sexual satisfaction/power‘

I’d just prefer the simple “Selamat Hari Raya” when arriving at my friends house, and say “Thank You” when I’ve reduced the rendang they have served me by half…hehhehe

Ya..ya.. I admit… I never could forgive someone just because of a special day.  For me, forgiveness should come from the heart, and not only through words.  You must mean what you say.

Of course there would be some sort of ‘sharing‘ in between the “Selamat Hari Raya“, and “Thank You“.  With my colleagues, it would be more on their family, and how nice their house looks… and sometimes work(although I try not to talk about it since its holidays)….  For students, it would be on gossips or something students know of, but I do not know… and for friend, it would be more towards remembering “those good all days“.

One thing I did not admire during Raya is the road jamm (pic above).  It took 50 minutes to drive from my apartment, to Semariang, a journey which could have took merely 5 minutes during ordinary days!

Em, Flora from Allied Marketting(where I always buy my phones) once said, “I know you like taking photos” when I choose to replace my Sony Ericssons K550i phone for the new Sony Ericcsons K770i phone, and she was right (Its amazing how people can know someone by their purchase).. this Raya was no exception as I did my personal camwhoring during visiting hours. I wouldn’t dare say I am talented, but I think this black and white photo (below) would bring a whole new meaning to Raya.

As Raya moved on to the to the weekend, I’m feeling reluctant to get back to work next Monday… but  since this is the Raya 2008 post, here’s a photo of me in my lavender baju melayu…

Eheemmmm… guys, don’t stare too long at the girl beside me (you’re suppose to see me in Baju Melayu!!)…. hehehehehe…
