Success is the best revenge

Sports days is over, and what can I say about it?? Besides my very own sports house, which is Garuda(red house) coming out last in the pack… I have to say the whole event does bring out a lot of memories. Add that with the venue of the event… which is the Kuching State Stadium (Stadium Negeri, Sarawak).. It was actually an agonizing, anticipation of really wanting to be out there, running on the track as one of the athletes, but… its just a feeling…. I guess, deep down, I wanted an event for the teachers… Maybe a 50 meter sprint, or maybe a 100 meter sprint.. but I know, it wouldn’t be held because it would be unfair for those older. :(

In fact, I remember what happened in this stadium 8 years ago so well, that I don’t know.. it made me miss those good old days so much. During that time, I was an athlete for Rentap (red house), and I took part in quite a number of events, and actually came out a winner, or with a medal in each event. Hmm… the song ‘Prety Fly For A white Guy‘ would really bring back those high school memories..

Fast forward to 2008, 8 year ahead of 2000 I can sum up that “working life does suck at this moments!”. Whom ever said they love working to being a student should be killed for bluffing..(duuuhhhh… I am joking!!). Anyway, I was in charged of the PA system, and was seated beside the emcees, and with the whole event actually going on in the stadium, there was nothing much to do, but play music during the whole event. Yeah.. I was the deejay of the day.. but after a while.. I felt bored, and asked my students to take over. Not because the job was boring.. but mainly because people started to complain about my choice of songs.. I mean, how can people complain about Linkin Park, Greenday, Jonas Brothers, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, MCR, Ungu, Letto and OAG and Oasis???

Anyway, I mingled with my staff more this time, and actually had the honor to give up prizes to the winner three times!! Okay, I admit, despite my so unconventional dressing (wore a semi-fit shirt, tracks, running shoes, shade, and my trustful Oakles cap), I felt a little weired giving out prizes. Maybe I’m just not YB material… hahaha.. I know, it sounds lame, but its a fact. I felt so weird the whole day. I think it was really the part that I am standing as an onlooker only, while others enjoy running around, playing with their friends and taking events. Damn!! being a teacher can be so darn boring!!

I think its an un-dying trend to see some students introducing their class t-shirt during sports day, and my school is kind of no exception. Hey, I did it when I was in Form 5.. haha.. so I know how it feels. Nonetheless, I found one class having a neat motto which was “Success is the best revenge.” Don’t know who they want to take revenge on, but it would be nice to see them gain success in life.

To sum it all up.. the sports day was a success… but I left the stadium feeling a small bit of disappointment because, well.. as I said it over and over in this post.. I really wished I was one of those running on the track, but don’t get me wrong, I don’t I won’t want to be the only 25-year old running on sports day, while the others are still below 20!!  That would be so000oooo damn awkward and not mentioning shameful!! hahahhaha
