Malaysian Election: How Bad Is It?

Malaysians spoke out loud yesterday, and yes.. based on the result… you can concede that BN is most definitely crying while the opposition is smiling, but actually how bad is it? I guess, when you look at Sami Vellu’s face below.. you just got to concede that it is horrifically bad!

I know DAP is strong.. yes, I actually do.. but I never expected PKR and also PAS to help take over 5 states with them. Never also had I imaging DAP, and PKR forming governments in any state!!  Being in Sarawak, and having lacked in development, I always want BN to win by a slim margin, but I never expected a huge defeat, not in their strongholds in the Peninsular at least. I don’t mean BN lost, but to me.. not being able to take a whole 2/3 majority of the Malaysian parliament is just as bad as a defeat for a party which has been in power for over 50 years.

I admit, this election has been interesting. Even in Kuching, you could feel the heat.  You can see that most people are not happy, despite the government continuous say that the people are satisfied. But lets face it, I see holes here and there, problems here and there… and maybe unfairness within my very oen community…and judging from the simple quiz I took, I won’t be surprise my dis-contentness would translate into a vote for the opposition too.

I guess, now BN should realize the importance of keeping Sarawak and Sabah close to their hearts, and make sure those in Sabah and Sarawak remain happy with the BN government because if both states did not generously ‘donate’ 70+ parliamentary seats to BN, we might see PKR, DAP and PAS ruling Malaysia today. That would make headlines, even in the United States!

Anyway, I congratulate all those whom have won.. and I hope, this defeat be a good lesson to those newly elected representatives to start keeping their promises (I would like to see the RM6000 bonus happen in Penang, and also the lowering of fuel prices over there.. as DAP had promised), and stay close to the people a.k.a “rakyat”. After all.. the people has spoken.. and it seems that we are now looking less blue for the next 4-5 years.

by the way.. I didn’t vote, but the next Sarawak DUN election, I will, so possible reps/elects.. make me happy if you want my vote!

Yeap, I read about a report at Malaysiakini that if you look at the Peninsular Malaysia alone, BN actually lost. BN held about 49% of Peninsular Malaysia. But thanks to the bulk of parliamentary seats from Sabah and Sarawak, BN was able to secure the federal government. Go figure lol.

As long as the people are happy, wherever they are and whoever they are under, then i guess that’s okay. If they really want change, then i guess they know what to do. Yea, it was truly exciting, the elections this time round. I somehow feel something’s wrong amidst the ‘celebration’ though, must be my paranoia acting up again. LOL.

    BYE!

Well guys (i’m referring to all that post a comment..) BN loosing is not too bad.. but seems that things are kind of unstable now. I do feel that BN is still the best way to go.. unless, a new party (aside from PKR) comes around and is multiracial than any other party in Sarawak or Sabah.
