SAGA BLM: An Owner’s Review

A lot of you have been asking me on how is the performance of the car. Oh well.. I apologize that I can’t actually give you a detailed review, or something so technical because I know peanuts about cars. To be honest, I know nothing about cars. Most f my knowledge on cars, come from friends.. but even then, its very limited.

Anyway, barely within a week, I had some problems with the car. Its not major if that is what you are wondering. Its kind of small and neglectable.. at least for a week or so. The air conditioner switch broke thanks to loose fixing by Proton.. and well, the back bonnet was not fitted properly, making it hard to close. I had to bang it so hard that I felt the car was going to shatter to pieces.. hurghh!! Thankfully, Proton Edar said my car is still under warranty, and they fixed/adjusted the bonnet F.O.C, and the button for the air condition will also get a free replacement next week when the spare part arrives. Thank God. I however wished they would just give me a new car… but that would only happen in my dream.. arggghhh…

Em.. the interior was kind of nice. Since I got the M-Line (which is the most expensive at the moment), I felt it was comfortable. The seats were just nice, and the seat adjuster was really fine. What I didn’t like was the dashboard. You know, looking at it in the display gallery was something, but actually using it.. you tend to find flaws. I disliked the fact that the clock was only for the driver, and the meter’s and stuff was shaded by the steering wheel. It was difficult to see, at least for me. Another annoying thing was that the noise of the engine. I felt like I was driving the WAJA where you could hear the engine roaring as if it was pulling something so heavy. Yea.. it wasn’t THAT LOUD.. but if compared to the MyVi (Automatic), this one was louder.

Hmm.. I brought the car back to my dad, and since he knows a few things about cars.. he did some inspection. He noticed that the doors didn’t have ‘the spring’ which would make closing the door easier without that usual ‘banging’. Then there was some rubber band sticking out of the engine. Somehow, he spotted it..and I didn’t. Hmm. makes me kind of wonder of the quality of this car after looking at it. I’ll post the photo of it later. Forgot to take it yesterday.

As for the speed on the road, It seems smooth. Apart from that ill-fated scream of the engine, driving is an experience, and I can consider pleasant. As far as fuel is concern, I have filled the car for RM50, for a journey about 200 km. I’m new to owning a car, so I don’t know whether that is economical or not. Nonetheless, David said its reasonable.. and since I can only drive it below 8okm/h for the first 1000km, I don’t know about its actual performance. I do however think that the pick-up of the car is resonably good, altough I do still hate to hear the roar of the engine. If you want to know more, leave a comment.. And, one more thing…. Notice the photo’s I put in between the post? Well, I tinted the windows of my car for RM250.. The guy/’taukeh’ told me it was US made tinted.. Hope its worth it. Tinted the whole car.

I’m just kind of not satisfied that you can still see into the car after it is tinted.. but I guess, better that, then loosing RM300 to the JPJ for dark coloured tinted.. right?? Maybe I should note that they actually were extra careful(look at the photo below) when tinting the mirrors. Don’t know wether its standard procedure..
