I have been waiting for this moment for a months.  After booking my Proton SAGA BLM on 6 January, 2008, and paying the down payment, I finally got a call from my salesman, which said.. “Your car is ready, come and take it.“  Was kind of shocked, as the first thing which crossed my mind was “err..  I’m gonna own a car???” I felt actually kind of weird.  I mean, I have been driving riding my Honda EX5 motorcycle for a year, and I kind of had got used to it.  You know, being caught in the rain, and braving the raging weather. But I guess, this change seems so sudden.. but its here, no use of feeling weird.

Matthew was kind enough to drive me to pick up my new car bearing the number QAL XXXX, and I actually told him to keep his lips sealed tight if he were to be asked about our destination.  Matthew being Matthew, told the others that we are going to pick up some girls.. hahahaha.. yeah rite.. Like there’s no other reason more appropriate..hahahahaha..  Actually, it’s not that I do not want to tell people I’m picking up my new car, but I don’t want the whole school to be all hyped about my car, which eventually end with me being the center of attention.  That’s not what I want… Daaa….

Anyway, after signing and checking the car and everything… I finally drove the car away from the dealer’s showroom, and off back to my apartment.  Hey, don’t bother asking me about free gifts because I don’t even consider a Satria Neo key chain and a piece of CIMB towel a free gift!  I only got a full fuel tank… but ahh.. better than nothing.

On my way home, just couldn’t help notice that my new shining car was making heads turn.  Hmm.. say whatever you want.. but it kind of made me feel a little uneasy.  At some point, I even caught people pointing at my car!  To make it even worst.. I still felt like that SAGA was not mine… I even drove it a slow 40km/h… huhuhu.. I know, that didn’t help with the ‘head turning‘…

So… I reached home, feeling rather embarrassed due to enormous attention on my car… Barely 20 minutes in my room, Jalani rang up saying “Hey, there’s a new SAGA here, I’ll scratch it if its owner doesn’t come down!!“.. Wow!!  That was fast.  Didn’t expect people to notice my car THAT FAST!   Anyway,  I knew he was joking, but I obliged and came down.  I showed him around the car… Since I couldn’t sleep anymore, I decided to go for my very FIRST DINNER with the car at Singapore Chicken Rice (SCR).

Knowing the attention the car would get, I parked a little away from SCR, but before I could get out.. someone knocked on my window.  I was puzzled… “What the hell?? Did I park wrongly??” I stared at this fair Chinese looking guy while winding down the windows.  He uttered these exact word “Bro, How is it??”

I was.. “huh????” Confused.. Then he continued “The car.. how is it?? I’m planning to get one.” Damn!!  I parked so darn far, and still people took the trouble to know how is the car… huhuhuh… I tell you.. the Proton SAGA BLM is really a car everyone is curious about, and since I am the first few to get one…. I’m like a super star.. and trust me.. I don’t like it.  Especially when my car would be touched, banged and even test driven by practically everyone (I can foresee this happening).  Yea.. blame it on me.. say I am selfish… I don’t care.  Its my first car, for God’s sake.. of course I treasure it.. *sigh*

I tired.. so I guess that’s all.. I think I will say more on other people test driving and even slamming and banging the door’s, bonet and even the trunk my new Proton SAGA BLM.. which I know will make me wish I had the courage to say “Dude, if you wanna slam the doors, bang my bonnet.. or even test drive.. go to Proton Edar!!“  Guess that’s what they mean , by “A NEW SAGA BEGINS“…
