Feeling Like A Malaysian?
In my previous post, I had mentioned about the TV show premiers I have been waiting for. From the disappointing Heroes premier, to the cool House M.D, and then to the action packed Smallville, I am still waiting for two more premiers, one being most certain to come early next year, which is One Tree Hill, while the other looking most certainly not possible to be aired for a second season.

I’m not talking about some foreign series like Grey’s Anatomy, or Westley’s favorite; Prison Break, but more of something local, which may sound foreign to all you guys whom sees Malaysian made TV shows as something to criticize, and an apparent favorite moment to switch channels. Oh well, I am doing it, and I guess you guys are most probably doing it too. After all, we are Malaysians, and we are never that forgiving when it comes to Malaysian products, just like the bad good quality Proton cars… Anyway, if you are not interested to hear an unprofessional critics rant, then you might want to come back to this blog a little bit later, say like tomorrow… At the moment, I am feeling like a Malaysian, and I would like to highlight one of the few…errr.. the only Malaysian show I love!

Realiti.. thats the Malaysian series I am talking about. Realiti, with a small ‘i’ at the end. Like I said in my previous post, the acting in this TV show could have been better, and in fact needs improvement, and since it is largely connected to singing, they actors could have been at least decent singers. Still, despite those low points, I’d still give this show a good two thumbs up! Why?? Well, if you are a huge fan of One Tree Hill (I’d like to say I am a huge fan of OTH), then you would understand why… but I’ll make it obvious here since I’m going to talk about this show today.

Disagree…
For starters.. I just love the theme songs. The song is actually excerpts from Scarecrow Adam, a song sang by Disagree which actually really rocks!! Its really unfortunate that not many know of their existence if compared to Linkin Park or Lifehouse. Of course asking the world to know our local English bands would be also something near to impossible.

Chelsia Ng has the sweetest voice in Realiti. Did you notice her butt looks really big and round in the teaser?? heheh..
Then, there is always the background music. Realiti uses a lot of music/songs to create the ‘feel‘ in a particular scene (Just like OTH). I have tried my best to look all the songs up, to find the songs (which are sang by local artist)… but till this day, NOTHING! *sigh* I only wished 8TV would release a soundtrack from this series. I really don’t care how much it cost.. I’ll make sure I get a copy!! Sounds desperate, huh?? I am!!! I’m particularly looking for the song played at the end of Episode 8, and of course the lovely song called One Step by Chelsia Ng.

Okay… plot wise, I think this show/series just rocks! I have, till today, never ever seen a series like this, made by a Malaysian, in Malaysia. Maybe some of you would find it lame, or before watching it would actually give it a good two thumbs down, inclusive of your two toes down, but I found Realiti really awesome! Who thought that being in a singing competition can reveal so much drama!! (I’ll tell you a secret.. I actually cried watching the 8th Episode… shhhhh!!!!) Emmm.. for the record, I have watched Realiti twice, and I did ‘that‘ twice… *blushing*

Ashraf Sinclair plays Burn brilliantly in Realiti. Never knew Ashraf could actually act so well!
Hmm.. I think I have said enough on Realiti. I’m featuring its teaser as Featured Video of This Week, and if you’d really like to check it out, here’s a good link for all 10 episodes which will enable you to watch it on YouTube for FREE! Please don’t go on to say I am paid by 8TV for this review, because I’m not… although I wished I was… hehehe… (if they would give me the songs played on Realiti would be enough actually!!)
Nevertheless, if you found it in your heart to go to the link above, and actually watch Realiti, then I guess I have done a good job promoting it
Maybe I should consider doing a Malaysian movie review, but I haven’t seen a gooddecent Malaysian movie for ages. *sigh again*

the songs that are featured in the show can also be found on the really old CD “Boys and Girls:1+1=3″ … this is a really awesome album, but must look around for it. if you find the album, please let me know. i’ve also been looking around for it.
i think the song in ep 8, towards the end, might also be from disagree.. the voice is quite distinctive.
