Loving It
A few months ago, my dad decided to get hamsters. I’m not sure whether he really got it for my little sisters (which are actually in their teens) or for himself, because he loves looking after animals. I on the other hand remain reserved over the hamsters as I don’t like looking after stuff or living things. Some people say that if you don’t like having pets, then you are not into having kids.. I don’t know.. maybe its true.. But anyway… all these hamsters initially died a tragic death after my parents somehow forgot to close one of the windows, allowing our neighborer’s cats to chase and feed on them.
The scene of the event looked like what you actually see on CSI, with blood stains all over the living room, and proof that there was actually a murder, with all evidence pointing to the neighbors cats. In addition to that, foot trails were also found which made it more convincing that the cats were the definite culprits.

Cotton… The white rat hamster…
The tragic death of the hamsters was much felt in the family, but my dad finally decided that a new batch of hamsters should be brought into the family a couple of weeks later. Frankly, I was still against the move, but all my sisters were for it. My mum and I were the only ones not really into these cute pets.
Anyway, its been more two months with this new hamsters, and thankfully, we always remembered to close the windows before sleeping, and ensured the hamsters stayed in their cage during the day. The hamsters, being animals has also since been very productive, increasing their population from two to nearly 10!!! Owh my…. I wonder if their cage would fit.. My sis also told me that there is only one female in the whole group.. WOW!! Talk about polygamy..hahahha…

New born hamsters.. Rather dull in colour… hmmm..
Nonetheless, My sisters have been very happy to add new enhancements on the cage, and my smallest Catriona also chipped in to buy them a bigger cage. I remain reserved on this, but after a while, I have to admit… I do like having the hamsters around. Although I just play with them once and a while, but they are just so cute and tiny to ignore… Even my mum said “The hamsters look so innocent, that you pity them, and start loving them“, a statement I just have to agree..
There are times, I see these cute fella’s biting the cage, as if trying to get away… but my Cannilia told me that they are actually sharpening their teeth, and are not actually trying to escape. I did put her words to the test by letting one of their hamsters out, but he returned home soon after I released him. Hmmmm… Maybe my Cannilia is right.. I don’t know, I don’t speak Hamsterish.…hehehe… At the moment.. I know they have named almost all of the hamsters, with Kiruk (totally a Dayak name..hahaha..), still the only female.
I guess thats all I have to say… I’m note sure you guys dozed off while reading this post.. but sometimes, I do think that I am a hamster.. caught in a huge cage… especially when I stare out of my grilled room…

But then again.. if you have a grilled window at home.. you’re also a hamster..hahahaha…
